Story
Hiya, my name is Jenny and I'm taking the very unusual step of living inside a small glass box to help Caudwell Children raise awareness of autism.
The box will be situated in the foyer of the huge Tesco Extra store at New Square in West Bromwich (B70 7PR), and I will be living inside it for a massive 50 HOURS with little more than a sleeping bag and hopefully your support!
Many families with autistic children have told the charity that the box is a metaphor for the condition - the isolation, feeling of being trapped and difficulties with communication are often associated with autism.
My 50 hour challenge starts at 2pm on Thursday 18th and, if successful, I will leave the box at 4pm on Saturday 20th July. Please visit me and see it all for yourself!
I have seen 1st hand how the charity supports autistic children, and in my experience a great number of families have told me that more needs to be done to put autism in front of the pubic to help raise awareness and acceptance.
Of course I am trying to raise funds too, so that Caudwell Children can continue to support more autistic children across the West Bromwich area.
You can text LIFA66 £3 / £5 / £10 to 70070 or of course donate as much as you can afford here.
Please come and visit me in the glass box and see it all for yourself!
