I am running the March 2022 Cardiff Half Marathon - the October 2020 Cardiff Half Marathon with three postponed dates!!
When I signed up to this in 2019, I had run my first 10km in Bristol, it was pre-pandemic and I wanted to challenge myself and my fitness. With every challenge the past two years has thrown at us, in a global pandemic, mental well-being and being aware of how to look after ourselves mentally has become even more important.
I am using my training to boost and bolster my own well being, as I challenged myself to run a minimum of three times a week, thereby ensuring I get out during the day whilst working from home. Rain or shine I’m training, and just four weeks into this new routine I already feel the difference. By carving out this time to get out and move, even when I really don’t want too, I am helping my mental well-being and always feel better for it.
I have a minimum target to raise for my charity place for Mind, and all it takes is twenty five kind donations of a tenner - if you can and would like to donate, your support can really help this charity to continue its work so that no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
