Story

*** Follow our progress at jennyandwayne.wordpress.com***

In their 25th Anniversary Year we'll be tackling 1433 miles over 6 days of riding to raise money for Childline. Wayne had always wanted to ride across the States - after his accident we didn't know whether he'd be able to, but seems like the dream will come true!

The Great British Invasion 2012 organised by Childline Rocks will take us in the steps of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, from Cranbrook, Canada via Whitefish, Bozeman, Cooke CIty, Dubois, Vernal and ending up in Park City, Utah at Robert Redford's Sundance Ranch.

Armed with some of the finest alpine mechanical gear (borrowed for the week from the local Harley dealership!), we will be tackling some of the highest and toughest sections of the American Rockies...without oxygen or sherpas!!

We've trained long and hard for this challenge (ie we decided to partake 8 weeks before the start date....eek!), but are now ready to be inducted into The Sons of Royalty, whose members include rock gods and military legends.

We're covering all the costs of the trip ourselves, so every penny you choose to donate goes direct to ChildLine.

The Sons of Royalty's motto is "The Crow Flies Straight"...tho personally I'm hoping the bikes will corner somewhat better than that!

ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
