Our story...

As many of you know I was born with a hole in my heart.  At the age of 2 and a half years old I underwent open heart surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) to repair the hole.  

In 2016 my son Samuel was born 5 weeks and 2 days prematurely with 2 holes in his heart. Sammy spent time in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Whipps Cross where he was born.  On 17th January 2017 Sammy was rushed via ambulance from Whipps Cross to Great Ormond Street hospital.  The following day, at 19 days old, Sammy underwent his 1st open heart surgery to fit a Pulmonary Artery Band.  Once Sammy was bigger and stronger he had his 2nd open heart surgery to repair the holes.  The operations were a success. 

The level of care, love and attention Sammy received at GOSH was outstanding.  I am eternally grateful and thankful for the hard work, expertise, knowledge and professionalism of all of the staff involved in Sammy's care while at GOSH.
