Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
Jenny's story - I want to raise money for Macmillan as I have reached 10 years after my cancer treatment in 2007 & I'm so thankful for all the support I received. I was so lucky to come through it all that I wanted to put something back so ran the Brighton Marathon in 2012 & raised £4,500 for Macmillan & lived to tell the tale! Sadly I also ran in memory of my Mum & Brother who both died of Cancer in 2011 & 2008 respectively.
Angie & I have often talked about walking the South Downs so this is an ideal opportunity to do it in aid of a great charity & with a truly great friend who is & was always there for me through it all. It is also in memory of a very special friend Maggie Patten who passed away in 2014 & for all our friends who have been touched by Cancer.
Angie's story - Jen is a real inspiration to me. Throughout her treatment she never once moaned or had any self pity (ok.. she did just the once when she had a cold flannel on her head to keep her temperature down so as not to be admitted to hospital again - BUT that was the only time !!! )... she's my hero! I feel very lucky to have her as a true friend and to be able to do this walk together which will raise more funds for Macmillan who were such a support not just directly to Jen but also to those around her.
