Amelia's Mega Hair Cut

Jenny Holman is raising money for Little Princess Trust
In memory of Charlene Earley
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Charlene Earley, was a hairdresser at the Indigo Rye Hair Salon in Caversham. She was the life and soul of the salon and hair was her absolute passion. Charlene's hair always looked beautiful and she loved nothing more than ensuring her lovely clients looked and felt amazing when they left the salon. Cancer cruelly robbed Charlene of her hair and in April 2021, she heartbreakingly lost her fight against cancer. She was far too young.

My daughter Alice, works at Indigo Rye.  Charlene left a lasting impression on her. Alice wanted to do something that Charlene would have loved and enlisted the help of her 14 year old sister Amelia. They decided that Amelia should grow her hair, in order for it to be cut, donated to the Little Princess Trust and turned into a wig for a child.

The Little Princess Trust is there when a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition. They will provide a free, real hair wig to help restore the child's  confidence and identity.  We know that this would have been really important to Charlene.

On 8 August 2022, at Indigo Rye, Amelia will be donating her hair, which she has being growing for over a year. We would also love to raise some money, as this is such a fantastic charity. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. They receive no formal funding.

Please help to raise money for them so that they can help more families.

Thank you

Jenny Holman
