We are raising money for the sick children’s trust to thank them for all of their help when we needed them. They are an amazing charity run organisation that provide a home away from home when children are poorly in hospital. This was so important for us as we needed to be with our son and lived so far away from the hospital. They provided standard and family rooms, a kitchen area and a comfortable relaxing area for friends and family to visit too.

When I was pregnant with our son we found out very early on that he would have a birth defect. At a gender scan we were told our son would have gastroschesis, meaning his bowels would be on the outside. Through many complications and a very long and worrying time at the R.V.I we were offered, on more than one occasion, a place to stay from the sick children’s trust. At such an awful time we had the comfort of knowing we could be close at all times, even having a direct line to NICU, ICU and wards our son stayed on. The staff at Crawford House took away so many worries so we could focus all of our attention on what was happening in hospital.
