Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

My mum Jenny, my sister and I have decided to walk the 3 peaks in the Yorkshire Dales National Park: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Our challenge is to summit all three peaks in 12 hours and walk all 25 miles.

We are doing this to raise money for brain tumour research 'Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer'

We have personally seen how devastating a brain tumour can be after losing my son Callum at the age of 4. Callum was a happy, smiley little boy who brought sunshine to everyone’s life.

Callum was just 20 months old when I was told the devastating news that he had a brain tumour. He underwent surgery to try to remove it which was life changing for him. He needed a tracheostomy, feeding tube, oxygen and multiple medications to keep him alive.
Callum was remarkable, coping with these new challenges - leaning to walk again, communicating  in different ways and helping to blend his food.
Callum was brave as he went through multiple operations.
No matter what the day held for him, he always had a cheeky smile for us.

Callum taught us to really appreciate the little things in life, which we all take for granted.
We are doing this challenge in memory of Callum a beautiful soul who was taken far too early. The money raised will be used to eventually find a cure for this life destroying disease.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
