Story
As many of you know, and many of you won't, I've suffered from depression for the past 8 years, and at times have really struggled to get by each day. For years I couldn't admit out loud that I was in trouble as I thought it was a sign of weakness, and if it wasn't for a few extremely precious people in my life I would never have been able to speak out and move on with my life.
The most incredible discovery to help set me on track to a more perminent happiness was in 2010, sitting in my kitchen with Will Lingard (thank you) searching for music jobs, and I found Rock Choir.
Rock Choir has no doubt changed my life in so many ways, but it has given me a release to any stress, pain and sadness that creep their way in every day. If I drive to choir feeling sad, I leave feeling elated - it truly is the best medicine to sadness, and it truly effects myself and the leaders just as much as it effects the members. Over the 2 years I have worked with Rock Choir, the amount of emails and conversations with members who have also suffered from depression or another mental health disorder have really shocked me. So many people suffer in silence and you would never know.
So I'm doing this for them. For everyone who has either personally suffered from depression or any friends and family who live with someone suffering from depression. Friends and family have so much to contend with when someone they love is suffering, and they need support too. Goodness knows how much I've put the people I love through, and I want to say thank you.
Anything you can to donate to 'Mind' would be so much appreciated, every person has their own mind to look after. Some need more help than others.
Love you all more than you'll ever realise.

The London Pianothon consists of myself and Lucy Hewes (another Rock Choir Leader) reaching all 50 London Street Pianos (or as many up to midnight!) by either foot or Barclays Bike and playing at least a segment of a different Rock Choir song on each piano. I will be filming the day and will make a video of our adventure for you all once completed!!
