In the UK, around 10,000 new cases of pancreatic cancer are diagnosed each year and it has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers – only around 5% of those diagnosed survive for five years or more.

Unfortunately an early diagnosis did not prevent my pancreatic cancer from spreading despite being under medical care. I feel strongly that more research is needed to allow early diagnosis and expand treatments for this cruel disease.
