Story

On 16th September Jenny Gibbs is going to line up with tens of thousands at the start of the Great North Run, whilst her cousin, Charlie Perkins lines up by herself at a base in Afghanistan! Here’s why...

Back in May, Jenny announced to Charlie that she was going to run this year’s Great North Run in aid of the amazing forces charity Coming Home.  Coming Home raises money to provide specially adapted and appropriate housing for the hundreds of Service personnel in need of rebuilding their lives. Inspired by Jenny’s plan, Charlie decided that she would give it a go as well, albeit from 3500 miles away.

Coming Home helps those servicemen who return from operational tours of duty with life changing injuries, by assisting with the purchase and adapting of homes designed to cater for their needs.
Serving in Afghanistan and having received treatment at Headley Court, Charlie has seen first-hand the resolve and determination that service personnel display when battling back to fitness.  Coming Home helps turn that drive into something tangible.

Your donation will help provide a home appropriate and suitable for their needs, affording badly injured Service men and women a platform from which to rebuild their lives. Please dig as deep as you can.
