Story
To celebrate Dorset Mind's 75th anniversary, we are taking part in their BIGGEST-EVER skydive event '75 for Skydive' - 75 Skydivers in 1 location in 1 day! On the 12th November 2021, Jenny and I will be jumping out of a plane at 15,000ft to raise money for Dorset Mind.
1 in 4 people will be diagnosed with a mental health condition in their lifetime... With your support:
- £8 will pay for essential workshop and counselling materials
- £10 will help the charity campaign for better support services, talking therapy, and crisis care
- £20 will pay for one school assembly that will explore what is meant by mental health, wellbeing and resilience, reaching approx. 200 young people
Our fundraising will help meet the rising demands for mental health support in Dorset. Never have their services been more needed.
Dorset Mind charity educates, challenges mental health stigma and inequality, and encourages recovery by empowering individuals to develop resilience.
Their 1-2-1 & group support includes counselling, mentoring, support groups, active monitoring and a befriending service. These help people regain social skills and develop confidence.
The charity also delivers educational wellbeing programmes for schools and workplaces and provide volunteer opportunities across all areas of the organisation.
