Story

Hey guys, thanks for visiting my fundraising page! I am hoping to raise AT LEAST £600 for Voluntary Service Overseas, the charity who I will be working with in Stansted and Sumatra as part of Global Xchange. The project is for 18 - 25 year olds and and I will be living and working with a young person from Indonesia within a team of 18 Brits and Indonesians. Although it costs £6000 to train every volunteer and pay for vaccinations, flights, accomodation etc, VSO only ask volunteers to raise a minimum of  £600. However, I would like to exceed this target as the charity is so worthwhile and because I want to help other people get the same opportunities.

During the exchange I will be working with local charities to aid the community. I haven't been given a specific placement yet but the work will be fulltime and past projects have involved things like helping run a mobile library, working at a centre for children with disabilities, helping at refugee organisations and working as educational assistants.  ----- March 23rd:  I have just found out that my placement will be based around the theme "intercultural dialogue"! ------

Any money you feel able to donate would be greatly appreciated! (apparently the minimum the site will accept is £2)

VSO is recuiting now for exchanges starting in September, so if you're interested in this project, visit http://www.vso.org.uk/globalxchange/ .

Donating through this site is a one time payment - simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Voluntary Service Overseas will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

I am also selling a variety of lovely items to raise money for the charity so if anybody is interested in an enormous bright red beanbag (very good condition and cost £60 new) or a Westfield E1000 strat shape electric guitar (dark red) for £40 (ONO) should get in touch! All money goes to a good cause.

Thank you for your support.
