Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A few good friends and I are hoping to attend and complete "women vs cancer" RIDE THE NIGHT. They are Carol Wright, Helen Walker, Sara Morris, Becky Morris and Maria Harris. Collectively known as "The Mistletoe Girls" (as we come from Tenbury Wells the home of mistletoe in the UK.) The challenge is to cycle 100km (62 miles) throughout the night on a circular route starting and finishing at Royal Windsor Racecourse. The route takes us into the centre of London and hopefully we will be able to enjoy looking at the various landmarks as we cycle past, including Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. Most of you will know I am a "Londoner" but the one thing I never imagined I would be doing is cycling in the centre!! The thought is rather daunting as I haven't even cycled through the town of Tenbury Wells (something I will definitely be rectifying over the next few months!)
Yes, the ride will be challenging but not as much as having one of the illnesses that we are raising money for. My mother died at the age of 54 of ovarian cancer. Also, Ruth, a friend of mine, was recently a victim of the same illness at a similar age. On a lighter note both my mother and Ruth would find it highly amusing that I am participating in this event and I know they would be a 100 per cent behind what I am doing.
Thank you so much for sponsoring me and I hope that I fulfil my part of the bargain and finish the course!! Watch this space as they say!!
