Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am taking part in the London to Cambridge bike ride which is approximately 60 miles on Sunday 2nd July. Just so you know, in a typical week, I cycle between 15 -20 miles to this is a big step up.

As some of you may know, in 2002 I had a major orthopedic surgical procedure called an Acetabular Osteotomy (or pelvic re-alingment) on my left hip followed by the same procedure in 2003 on my right hip. ORUK fund research and training to help improve those effected by bone and joint disease, whatever the persons age. As a person who has benefited from their research, I fully support their aims and I am keen to raise as much money as possible so that they can help other people like me. Please donate to help me peddle my way home!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Orthopaedic Research UK (ORUK) aims to improve the lives of millions of adults and children affected by bone and joint disease through funding high quality research, training and education. Our research projects promote collaboration between surgeons, scientists and engineers. They have helped develop new artificial limbs and joints, led to better pain relief, increased insights into conditions such as bone tumours, arthritis and osteoporosis and improved the treatment of sporting and trauma injuries. We are one of the most significant funders of orthopaedic research in the UK, but much more needs to be done to achieve our ultimate vision of eliminating bone and joint disease.
