*UPDATE*
So as you may know the London Marathon has been postponed until October! Hopefully that will go ahead but in the meantime on Saturday 25th April I will be running 13.1 miles and cycling 13.1 miles to acknowledge what I should have been doing this weekend! Thanks for the support!
I was lucky enough to get a ballot place in London after my first ever application! I felt it was important to use that good luck to raise awareness and funds for a great charity in my local area!
In January 2019 I met Terry for the first time after I volunteered as a befriender for Rothwell MHA Live at Home Scheme. I can honestly say we have become great friends and I look forward to seeing him every week to have a chat and catch up with him. I know he enjoys my visits as much as I do! Befriending is just one of the many services offered by MHA.
MHA is a charity which enables older people to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible, helping them to live later life well.
At MHA Rothwell & District we work to reduce isolation and promote independence for older people living in Rothwell and the surrounding area. We do this by providing a variety of different activities, trips, lunch clubs, support and advice in the local community.
We also offer a Befriending Service and Frailty Support where one of our trained volunteers visit our members in their own homes, or give them a weekly telephone call, for companionship and conversation.
Membership is FREE and we keep in touch through our quarterly newsletter, which tells you all about our activities and special events and offers helpful advice.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and without them we would not be able to deliver the services we offer.
If you would like more information about our activities, would like to become a member or volunteer, then please give us a call today
