Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
At the end of September we are trekking to the very top of Mount Kilimanjaro. Standing at 5,894m (19,332ft) it is the tallest mountain in all of Africa and one of the world’s ‘Seven Summits’!
Our 7 day trek will take us along the remote and relatively quiet Rongai Route, situated on the north side of the mountain, beginning close to the Tanzania / Kenya border. This is the longest and apparently most scenic trekking route on Kilimanjaro, allowing us a varied climb up to the rocky summit through forest, farmland, open moor and ice fields.
Not only is this obviously a HUGE personal challenge for us, but we want to take the opportunity to raise a few extra pennies to help out the wonderful people at MacMillan Cancer Support.
At one time or another most of us have been affected by cancer and we’d love it if you could dig deep and donate whatever you can afford to our special cause. We’d like to try and make this colossal climb rewarding to more than just our sense of achievement!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
