Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After Dad passed away last year, my sister Rachael and I thought it was fitting to sign up to participate in the London to Brighton Bike ride on Father's Day 2013 just a few days before the first anniversary of his death.
My Dad liked his challenges a little more exotic (run a marathon - sure but lets do it in Barbados) but those of you who know me will recognise this is a huge challenge for me.
Thanks to angioplasty and a cocktail of drugs not least his 'rat poison', Dad was able to live a full life after his first 'brush' with cardiac 'trouble' over 12 years ago. There was a time not long ago when these years would not have been as easy. Back in the 80's and 90's my Nan also benefitted from new cardiac treatments (bypass and angioplasty) which enabled us to have her in our lives for longer.
Amongst my extended family and friends I know of many lives touched, troubled and tragically shortened through cardiac disease. The work the BHF do to support patients and their families is invaluable. So in memory of my Dad, Rachael and I will celebrate the years we had with him that we may not have done without the work of the BHF.
Please support us by supporting them and donating what you can.
Thank you
