Hi everyone,
I decided to do this swimming madness because I was inspired when listening to Radio 1 I heard about Eddie Izard doing his 30miles a day run over 7 weeks, (with that all important one day a week rest) and I decided that my time to do some great charity work is now. I currently work part time as a swimming teacher and I am part time at university doing 2 modules. I also do private lessons, drama and many other things which I will be keeping up while I do this sponsered swim.
So i decided that the best thing I could do would be to swim 500 lengths of a 25m pool every day for 7 weeks (except my all important one day a week of rest heehee). In total I work it out to be about 326 miles over the 7 weeks, starting 5th November 2009. I do my last session on Christmas eve this year, and my Christmas present to myself will be knowing that I have done something remarkable to help out a lot of people who need the help that the money I have raised can give them.
Thats the best kind of present that anyone could get.
So please everyone, dig deep into those pockets and give something, because I'm not going to eat my parents out of house and home for 7 weeks and put myself through a grueling regime for nothing. Lets see just how generous people can be.
Big thanks to the Tryst Sports Centre, in particular George Jack, who have said that its ok for me to do my swim and take over their pool for a good 4 hours a day, and also any other pools and people that have helped me out with counting lengths or giving me pooltime, or even helping me keep on top of my university work and work at Sheppard Swim School, any help people give me is much appreciated.
Please let any one else who might be interested in sponsering me know of this website so that word can spread.
Thanks in advance and I will keep videos, etc posted throughout my swim so that people can see how I am getting on.
