Story
Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are racing IRONMAN Wales in Tenby on Sunday 14 September 2014. We shall be swimming 2.4 miles in the sea off North Beach, cycling 112 miles round coast and countryside and then running 26.2 miles round the town of Tenby.
As part of our Ironman Wales challenge, we are raising money for the Bowel and Cancer Research charity. Their vision is that no-one should die of bowel cancer, have to live with chronic bowel disease or face life with a permanent stoma. They aim to deliver this vision by funding scientific and clinical research to save lives and improve the quality of life of individuals with bowel cancer and other bowel diseases (such as Crohn's disease and IBS).
Most of you will know that we made the slightly crazy decision to enter the race after spectating at last year’s event where our fellow BRAT’s gave inspirational performances. So we blame the last 9 months of relentless training, little sleep and complete lack of social life on you guys, you know who you are ;). I (Jen) am biased, but Pembrokeshire is beautiful and I am delighted to be having a go at an Ironman on home ground!
The training thus far has been challenging to say the least, and would not have been possible without our family’s support in the form of much babysitting! We hope that when they are a big bigger Megan and Hollie will be proud of Mummy and Daddy’s undertaking J
