Edinburgh Marathon Festival Full Marathon 2019 · 26 May 2019 ·
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
This all started as it was on my bucket list to do a marathon before I was 40. With time ticking....November 2020 is getting closer, I decided to sign up to do the Edinburgh marathon on New Years Eve 2018. This was before I’d had a drink 🤪.
I managed to rope in one of my besties and running partner Lindsay who also signed up on New Years Eve with me.
So the training commenced.....it is going well but wow it takes up your time. I’ve also decided not to drink while training so it’s double bubble hard work but hey ho 5 month never hurt anyone 😀.
We signed up and paid for the privilege of running 26.2 mile for fun but so many people have asked if I am running for a charity.
The answer was no but if doing this helps to support anyone, I wanted a local charity to benefit.
So....I have decided to set up this page for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity close to Lindsays heart but a one that could impact any of us at any time.
Along with this is the ‘Daft as a Brush’ charity at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle. They provide transport for cancer patients who are unable to get to and from the hospital for their treatment.
We want to support both so have set up a team page.
Thank you 😀🏃♀️
