Story
Alice-Rose contracted meningitis in Feb 2010 at the age of 14 months. Alice suffered from kidney failure and then weeks later a devastating bleed to her brain. During her second stay in intensive care we were told that Alice had severe brain damage and had no quality of life. Alice's treatment was withdrawn, we agreed to donate her organs in the hope to help other families. As we sat there saying goodbye to our beautiful daughter, she fought for her life and showed us what an amazing fighter she is. Three years have passed and Alice has shown courage, motivation and strength every day.
Alice has been left with many disabilities including leg length discrepency, due to growth plate damage. She will be having many operations in the years to come to lengthen and straighten her left leg by wearing a metal fixator for 9 months. We are hoping to raise money through The Tree Of Hope Charity to fund extra physio session to help Alice after her operation, to give her every chance to learn to walk.
We are also hoping to fund a new specialist trike for her to ride after her treatment. Cycling is great for her legs and gives her the feeling of freedom.
Alice never gave up, so we will continue to fight to improve her life.
Many thanks :-)
