Story
The truth is, I do not love running. However, I do love the after feeling of running along with the thought that running will help me stay fit, enable me to eat more without putting on weight (as if) and get leaner legs (it hasn’t really happened yet)!
The last time I participated in Home Run was in 2020. Back then, I challenged myself to run a collective distance of 42km. This year, I believe I should have a more Aspirational goal. Asides from not loving running, I am a rather lazy runner and usually run a maximum of 5km a week. Now that I am committed to the 2022 Home Run, I do need to do better than 42km. So, here we go………..(drumroll…)……I am going to run a collective distance of 100km!!
Wish me luck everyone because right now, to me, that sounds unachievable. What would spur me on and make me put that one foot in front of the other to complete the distance is the desire to reach the goal set, raise funds from people who believe I can have
pledged, and finally, the positive difference those funds will make to our Futuremakers!!
Futuremakers by Standard Chartered, a global initiative to tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion, aims to raise US$75 million between 2019 and 2023 to empower the next generation to learn, earn and grow through programmes focusing on education, employability and entrepreneurship.
