National Three Peaks Challenge · 5 August 2011
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 5th-7th August 2011, I will be participating in the Three Peaks Challenge, in which the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales are climbed within a space of 24 hours. I have no previous experience, so this is a bit mad, but I've registered now, so will find a way to make it happen :)
But I need your help! I am trying to raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship, which will go to Mind, who are the foremost Mental Health charity for England and Wales. The money will go towards (in brief) campaigning for government policy that suppports those experiencing mental health problems and promotes measures for good mental health in the general population; challenging discrimination; providing information and advice, including through a telephone helpline, and funding local theraputic services and projects such as the brilliant Ecominds community gardening. See www.mind.org.uk for full information. The work they do is important to society, it's a cause I'm personally moved to support and what's more, the charity are my employers (for those who don't know I work in the Winton shop, Bournemouth, with a fantastic company of colleagues, many of whom the service users who benefit from Mind's work)!
It's quite a big total to aim for, but I think it's possible, with the various fundraising schemes I've got up my sleeve :)
So, if you have anything, no matter what amount, that you'd like to put towards this end, I would be so unendingly grateful. I would...draw you a picture. That's a binding agreement, all online sponsors will recieve a picture drawn for them, just let me know where to email it :)
Thank you so much, you are all stars.
P.s. Panic! I've just found out I was under false impressions when I believed I needed to hand over £250 by July - it's actually £325 by June 10th! Getting my fund raising skates on, any urgent assistance would be appreciated, and rewarded with hugs and kisses, which can be redeemed for something more appropriate.
