The Genesis Project provides children with the skill to swim that will develop into a lifelong love for water. This will have a generational impact, helping to change a familys fear of water. The Charleston County Parks Foundation has evidence that this message of fear is slowly starting to change through The Genesis Project. The West County Aquatic Center, Hollywood, SC's community pool, dedicated to Genesis Holmes, has become a beacon in the very community in which he was from. Tragically, Genesis drowned in a pond near Hollywood when he was only 13 years old. After Genesis tragic accident, the Foundation, family members and community leaders became determined to prevent this kind of drowning from ever happening again. Jennifer Holmes, Genesis mother, continues to serve Charleston County Parks Foundations Genesis Project Planning Committee, and some of Genesis' friends are now working at the pool. Please donate today to help countless others overcome their fear of water.
