Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019 · 8 September 2019 ·
Like most families our family had a relative who fought in the Great War and who lost his life in the Somme. 100 years on and the support that the Royal British Legion provides for so many armed forces families is to me a worthy cause to run for. My great Uncle Percy, in his last letter home wrote ‘ it is the eve of battle, I go in cheerfully trusting I do my duty well by myself and my men, plucky fellows they all are......All I have is yours in love, goodnight to you all’
For his sacrifice and many thousands more we owe our life’s today
Prior to 2019; I ran a maximum of 8 miles at a time, now 10 and soon to be 13.2
Please do sponsor me, as that last Parkrun distance at the 10 mile mark will be the longest Parkrun I will ever do!
I’m running with my sister and who knows we might even cross both lines together!
