We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Hi my name is Jenni Chohra and I am cutting my hair off in honour of my toxic friend Jill Firmin. Here after we will be known as.... The Scissor Sistas.

Cancer has a funny way of creeping into our lives some way or another. And we are duty bound to go to battle and fight for our lives. In this instance this is exactly what my amazing and beautiful friend Jill is doing. Jill has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. She has been a true inspiration and has had strength in times when others may have not.

She is using her journey to help and support others via a daily blog. Her blog is a candid description of her feelings, side effects, emotions from her chemo and a daily record of the fun she is having on the way. This blog is having such an impact on others as it is an honest account with a cheeky twist!  http://jillyblogbean.blogspot.co.uk

So look around you.

How many people can you see?

How many of them have either had or known somebody who has had cancer?

It's all around us. The word itself has too much power. It is the most frightening word in the world. To lessen this fearsome word we need to be able to understand why and how, and then find a way to fix it. To be able to get to this point we need to act now to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

It is for this reason alone that I am donating my hair, giving blood and doing a race for life in June to raise money for Cancer Research UK. With my hair, it will be made into a wig for someone receiving treatment. With my blood donation, it will help replenish the blood bank. And finally by running the race for life, it will be an amazing experience for my team and with a special appearance from Little Miss Steroid herself, Jill Firmin.

I am giving, can you?
