Last year was a particularly bad one for us. The culmination of it was the loss of my Mum, to cancer, after a very short and sudden illness. Finding out that she had cancer and it was not treatable in September gave us two months more with Mum before she passed away.

During that time Mum and Dad were supported by district nurses and also Macmillan nurses. To show my thanks for all that they did to help Mum's final days be as comfortable as possible I've decided to raise money for Macmillan in Mum's memory by completing the Great Welsh Marathon at Llanelli.

Any amount is no matter how large or small will be gratefully received and who knows, I might even managed to get below my PB of 4 hours 48 minutes for 26.2 miles.
