Over 10 million girls are at-risk of school dropout because of the pandemic. The recent cuts to UK aid have further left the futures of these girls hanging in the balance. Join us as we raise £25,000 to support 5,000 girls back to school.

Story

Earlier this year, I worked with Irise Institute East Africa on a report detailing the support young women and girls in Uganda need as we recover from the impacts of the pandemic. Our research highlighted how girls in Uganda are at significant risk of school dropout, child marriage, and the loss of their dreams for the future. The recent cuts to UK aid have further left the futures of these girls hanging in the balance.

Matt and I are standing with girls in the Irise community whose futures are at risk. Towards the end of August, we are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to climb 5000ft for 5000 girls and we hope to raise £300 to support them in staying in school and achieving their dreams. The pandemic continues to jeopardize progress towards gender equality and Irise will leave no girl or woman behind.

This will be a big challenge, for me and my little legs in particular...! I've seen firsthand the impact that Irise has and I'd be extremely grateful if you'd consider donating.
