Story
My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in June 2008 when I was 11 years old and straight away we were given support from St. Giles staff who sent out a specialist nurse to come and talk to us about any concerns or questions we had. They supported us through the chemotherapy courses and when things got worse my Dad stayed in the Hospice for three weeks where he was looked after by amazing staff and the facilities were top knotch. A very important point of my Dad's care was hallistic therapies which were also available for my Mom. By this point he was feeling quite homesick and returned home with nurses coming out daily to give him his medication and check on things giving the family support, providing a hospital bed and any other equipment we needed.
Even after his death they were still very supportive and offered all the support and councelling we needed.
