Story
Over 700,000 people in the UK have dementia and for 1 in 3 people over 65 it will be the cause of their death. So many people suffer from this disease, as well as their family and friends.
So to help The Alzheimer’s Society carry on with their incredible and much needed work I’m trekking The Great Wall of China this October. It’s a cause close to my heart, so I aim to raise as much money as I can (a minimum of £3000), so would really appreciate any donation you can manage!
The Alzheimer’s Society offers support and information to those who suffer and their carers; they also fund research into the cause, care and prevention of the disease as well as providing learning resources and training to improve care and understanding.
£12.50 allows a sufferer or carer to receive advice and support from the Alzheimer’s Society helpline.
£50 could pay for a PhD researcher for a day to continue vital research into the cure and prevention.
£100 could pay for one essential brain scan for diagnosis.
So, go on...dig deep, someone you know will be affected by this horrible disease, so please help by donating whatever you can and if you know of any other friends, family members or businesses that would like to be a part of helping me and The Alzheimer’s Society-Please direct them to my page too (:
