Hi I'm Jen, I'm a third-year student at Nottingham Trent University studying Psychology with Criminology, and at the end of this year I am going to be climbing Machu Picchu to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation!
In September 2022, with my team, I will be hiking for 6 days through the Andes covering a whopping 81km towards Machu Picchu, a 2,430 ft mountain located in the Andes mountains in Peru.
I'm so excited to be doing this all in aid of such a fantastic charity. The Meningitis Research Foundation is a charity which aims to research and raise awareness of two serious diseases, Meningitis and Septicaemia. Meningitis remains the second biggest killer of children under five globally. This is more than AIDS, malaria, measles and tetanus combined. It kills more than 300,000 people every year and leaves hundreds of thousands more with life-altering impairments.
Meningitis Research Foundations work is providing better access to vaccines, health systems that can diagnose and treat children, and support to survivors of meningitis.
Any little thing you can do to help whether that's donating or to share this page would be so so appreciated!
