What I'm Doing
I'm running the 2014 Great Manchester run in memory of David Hogan.
It's a 10k run on 18 May and I'm very unfit and quite lazy normally so it's quite a challenge! While 10k might not seem a lot to most, it's huge to me!
About David
David was diagnosed with lung cancer that had spread to his liver on Christmas Eve 2013. In just 3 short months, he was gone. As I'm sure many will know, cancer is a cruel, vicous and devastating illness and affects so many people. David was very unfairly taken from us.
David was one of the most kind, funny, intelligent and driven people we were lucky enough to have in our family, and he will be missed dearly. Personally, he motivated me to want to be better all the time, especially in my career. I was proud to be his step-daughter.
His wife (and my mum) Helen was the love of his life and he hers. I'm running to raise money in both their names - please spare a kind thought for both David and Helen at this time
My chosen charity
I'm running to raise money for MIND as they really do deserve the money and it's a charity David would have wanted to raise money for, after all, mental health affects the majority of us as does cancer. My mum suffers with bipolar and so it's a charity close to both their hearts.
