Story
Hello friends,
What are you up to?
It's 2019 and I am once again coming to you for your support and your money.
I'm going to be running the London Marathon 2019 in April and other runs along the way, including the Cancer Research UK Winter Run in February.
Why?
I always run in memory of my Dad Bill, who died of lung cancer and an associated brain tumour. He has been gone for over 20 years of my life now and there is a huge void in my heart where he should be.
Huge progress in treatment has been made since he died - but it's not enough. In January we lost our dear BBC Weather colleague Dianne Oxberry so suddenly and unexpectedly to the disease, and it shocked the team all around the UK to the core.
Think of all the times you've shouted at the telly, the newspaper, your Facebook feed or cried at your friends or family because of this awful disease. This is why we need to develop a cure, and this is why Cancer Research UK needs your donations.
Thank you.
