We raise funds for children with cancer to help them through treatment using play.

Story

I first became aware of the charity Give a Duck in 2014, when a little boy I taught returned to school after completing his treatment for Leukaemia. Give a Duck had supported him greatly during his treatment, and his parents then became very involved in the charity.

Years later, purely by chance, I made a friend (Eve) at a local baby group and it turned out she worked for that very same charity! She was able to tell me that the little boy I taught all those years ago was now a tall, healthy teenager!

So I have decided to join Eve to run the Leeds 10K and fundraise for this incredible charity. I can’t imagine the horror and pain that follows when your child is diagnosed with cancer - what this charity does is give real huggable comfort to a child going through the unimaginable.

2020 has been a very challenging year for all of us, but charities like this really rely on donations, so anything at all that you could spare to support their vital work would be truly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Wish me luck!
