Story
This September Andy and I are planning to complete one of the challenges in our bucket list. We will be walking from St Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire (Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk). It will take us 12 days of walking to complete the 190 miles (up to 23 miles in a single day!) with just one 'day off' to rest after 8 days of walking before completing the final 4 days.
We will be walking in memory of my late Mum (Madeline Johnson) who passed away peacefully in the care of East Cheshire Hospice. The staff there looked after Mum giving her respite care, a support community and new friends who supported us all as she lived with terminal breast cancer.
The hospice is a charity and needs £7,500 a day to provide it's amazing service. It is a very special place filled with special people.
Anything you can give to help repay the care they gave would be fantastic. If you can tick the gift aid box they will be able to stretch your amazing donation even further.
Every penny we get for each mile we walk will help keep us going through the physical and mental highs and lows ahead.
If you can't donate we understand. One thing we do ask is please check yourself regularly (whatever your gender). Early detection will give you a better chance against this disease.
Mum loved to be outside and walking, why don't you give it a go as well?
