Story

Hello everyone,

I’ve signed up for the 25 mile cycle challenge for Katharine House Hospice, with a little gentle persuasion from Rachel and Soph! I know 25 miles doesn’t sound like a lot but for someone that is bicycle-ee –challenged like me it is. (I can’t even remember the last time I went for a bike ride it’s literally been that long.)

Here’s a little info on the hospice for those who don’t already know…

Katharine House Hospice has to raise 75% of its costs to fund vital free of charge services for individuals and their families facing a life limiting condition.

How you money will help…..

In patient care -They have a ten bedded unit that offers individualised care for patients who are admitted with symptom control, respite or terminal care.

Day Care –The day care unit provides a ‘day out’ for patients and a ‘day off’ for carers. Up to 15 patients can attend at a time.

Lymphoedema Care – The clinic treats patients who suffer from this painful and debilitating condition and helps to improve their overall quality of life.

Carers Group – The carers group offers practical advice, the chance to meet others in similar situations and a break from the caring role.

Thanks for having a look. Please feel free to give as little or as much as you can, it will all be greatly appreciated.  Wish me luck!
