Story
As cancers go, sarcoma really sucks. It's rare; it makes up less than 2% of all cancers diagnosed in the UK, it is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. There are around 100 types of Sarcoma-you’re unlikely to meet anyone else with the same type. It was pretty unexpected and a massive blow when my mum was diagnosed in 2020, and even worse when it resurfaced in 2022. It’s not her first run in with cancer, but unlike the last time this was something we knew nothing about, so Sarcoma UK has been an invaluable source of information. I'm so grateful for all of the treatment my mum has received so far and really want to do as much as I can to help her, others with sarcoma and their families keep benefitting from the work Sarcoma UK do.
Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. I have no doubt their work has benefitted my mum, but there's also no doubt that more research is needed to improve awareness, diagnose and treatment of Sarcoma.
By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care. Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community:
£1 Could cover the cost of 10 texts to the support line
£10 Could be used to buy microscope slides to look at cells in minute detail
£30 Could fund one hour of use of a high-powered laboratory microscope
£150 Could fund the support line for a week.
Thank you so much for your support
