Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking part in the Great North Run this year in aid of a cause very close to my heart. I'm running in memory of my friend James who sadly passed away in November after a long struggle with the disease cystic fibrosis. This is a life limiting condition for which there is as of yet no cure. The cystic fibrosis trust aims not only to support families effected by the disease, but also to fund vital research into improving treatment, with the eventual aim of finding a cure.
I met James during my first year of University, and lived with him along with several other friends from 2nd to 4th year. He was an amazing character who enjoyed making people laugh (which he did daily!). I'm sure he would hate me saying this, but the way in which he dealt with the disease and the difficult knowledge that his life would not be a long one was a great source of inspiration to me, and I hope it will see me to the end of this race in a super-quick time. Please give whatever you can to this worthwhile charity.
