Story
I've done this before, but it's fair to say this year I have not been prepared. My contact lenses haven't arrived, I've previously got lost in a pool without them, and I haven't trained as much as I should have. Until Friday morning, I was pretty on the fence on whether I would turn up, but with everything that's going on in the news right now, it felt like an important chance to raise funds for charities working to provide women safe access to healthcare.

Previous donations in this fund have helped people like Eabha*, who did not find out she was pregnant until the 22nd week of pregnancy. Her contraception had failed, she had no obvious pregnancy symptoms, and was now in a race against time to travel to England to access legal care before her 24th week of pregnancy. The fund covered her flights and treatment costs, and working closely with Abortion Support Network, we were able to arrange for a local host to pick her up from her appointments so she could stay in a comfortable home overnight. Lucy* travelled to our Manchester Centre from Belfast with her boyfriend. They arrived in their school uniforms and didnt have enough money for a taxi back to the airport. Our Manchester team was able to make sure that their transportation costs were covered. Your donations will now go to help a wider scope of vulnerable clients in need, from funding partnership work, to subsidising private costs for overseas clients.
