Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Jenny Bates and Elle Nash are beyond grateful for all your support in helping us to reach our fundraising target.
On Saturday 4th July, we are running a MARATHON (eek) which is a crazy 42.2km, along the Thames Path. This is a colossal challenge for the two of us, one which we are feeling very nervous but also extremely excited about. The run will begin at Oxford Brookes boat house in Wallingford and finish at Temple Island in Henley, where, in normal times we should have been celebrating the infamous Henley Royal Regatta. So, what better way to mark the occasion than running a marathon for an exceptionally good cause.
Mind is a charity which works towards improved mental health. Despite the peak of the pandemic being over, the UK has sadly reached a mental health emergency where people are experiencing mental health problems for the first time and people who were struggling are finding things harder than ever. There is no denying the impact that the pandemic has had on everyone's mental health during these unprecedented times and so we'd like to help raise money for Mind so that they can deliver the invaluable support for those who need it.
Many of you will also know that we have set up our own premium pick and mix sweets company, called Jellees. We are running a charity raffle for Mind, for £2 per entry and donations on here will be automatically entered. The winner, who will be picked from random will win an incredible 2 KILOGRAMS of pick and mix sweets and a pair of Mustash cycling socks which were kindly gifted. Enter as many times as you can, for an increased chance of winning. You can check this competition out on our website, jelleesweets.co.uk/ as well as our Facebook and Instagram profiles, Jellees and Jellees_sweets.
At Jellees, where our catch phase life is short, make it sweet justifies our decisions in life as well as our customers decisions when purchasing sweets, we are grateful to be in a position where we can do something to help make others lives sweeter. We are by no means underestimating the physical and mental challenges we will face on Saturday but we will keep the cause in our minds and of course will be powered by Jellees sweets! If anyone would like to support us along the course, your cheers will be more than welcomed.
Thank you so much for your kind donations, we understand that it is a hugely challenging time financially but as always, every little helps.
All our love
