You have no doubt seen the adverts for the charity “Save the Children” asking people to donate £2.00 a month to save a dying child.
The advert shows a starving child in a third world country, but, did you know that Save the Children helps kids all over the world, including the United Kingdom.
What can you buy for £2.00?
A pint of lager £3.25
A glass of wine £4.10
Buy medicine for a child £2.00
A magazine (one of the cheaper ones) £2.50, A posh one £3.50 +
A coffee from some fancy coffee shop £2.10
Feed a child £2.00
A McDonalds meal £4.79
For £2.00 you can save a child’s life, you can help buy food and medicine and keep a child alive.
As the advert says “No child should be born to die”
Where is this leading, all those who know Jeff and have read his facebook postings, will know that he is doing a sponsored walk from France to Holland, it’s not far 77 km, which is 48 miles. He plans to do this over 3 days, all costs incurred on the trip will be paid by him, so all the money raised will go to Save the Children charity.
Please sponsor him on this walk, his target is to raise as much as possible, to help as many children as possible.
It might be a burger and a pint to you, or a coffee and a magazine, but to a child in need it is so much more, it’s hope.
Thank you
Debbie (Jeff's wife)
