Story
Every year, there are Fireflies all over the world doing demanding bike rides to raise money to fight Leukemia. This is the ride that started them all, 20 years ago -- 1000 km from Geneva to Cannes, passing over epic mountain passes in France and Italy.
I'm honored to be returning to the Alps and helping to raise money for Blood Cancer UK. 8 days of riding, 1000 km, 77,000 feet of climbing. There will be cursing. There will be second-guessing. Thankfully, there will also be unparalleled camaraderie and the occasional pastry.
Thanks so much for reading this, and for considering helping me meet my fundraising goal. No donation is too small, and the cause is so worthy.
A bit more about the Fireflies:
The Fireflies are a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
