Thanks for taking the time to visit my RideLondon 100 JustGiving page. See my newest page to read about my 12 hour ride on September 1st - raising money for Age Cymru Gwent:
www.justgiving.com/jeff-hayward1
I used to do a lot of cycling and have ridden many long distance time trials, my favourite being the 12 hour events.
This year I'm making something of a 'comeback' and as an incentive, will be raising money for some very worthwhile causes. Later in the year I hope to ride the Welsh 12 hour championship and will raise funds for Age Cymru Gwent but before then my first aim is to raise money for the charity Bees for Development Trust – a tiny charity based in Monmouth with a big impact. BfDT helps farmers in some of the most remote and poorest communities earn much needed income through keeping bees and selling bee products.
Much of BfDT’s work is about education.
I am raising money for a Project about ‘training the trainers’ – in beekeeping. This will be based in Ghana but will involve trainers across Africa. The beekeepers trainers will teach farmers in a range of topics such as making simple beehives, harvesting honey safely for people (and for bees!) and how to separate honey from wax to produce high quality products.
This is what one beekeeper trainer said “Bees for Development has helped me prepare my beekeeping training manual and has updated my beekeeping knowledge. I have helped improve the lives of many school leavers by providing them self-employment through beekeeping” Adebayo Ayansola, Nigeria.
Thanks for your support!
