I’ve joined the team from Bev’s Slimming World for the 24 hour Relay for Life for Cancer Research to raise money in memory of my husband Gareth, who died from a Brain Tumour in 2010 at the age of 60.

I also have several relatives and good friends who are cancer survivors and want to celebrate their lives too. Finding new treatments through research has doubled cancer survival rates since the 1970s.

All donations will go directly to fund research to diagnose, prevent and treat cancer.

Fortunately I don’t have to run for 24 hours but will be joining the team from Saturday 6th July to Sunday 7th July as we complete laps of the Marl Pits running track. I think a lot of walking will be involved!!
