Story
In January 2014 I completed the inaugural Dopey Challenge at Disney World, Orlando - a total of 48.6 miles over four days - in aid of the Brooke Hospital. This was my biggest and longest challenge to date and it all went really well and I completed the marathon in 4hr 46min. This is a special year as it marks the 100th anniversary of the First World War and 80th anniversary of the Brooke, which was founded by Dorothy Brooke to help ex-cavalry horses abandoned in Egypt after the war.
Today the Brooke helps working equines and their owners in some of the world's poorest countries. I have seen the charity's work first-hand in Egypt, Jordan and India, and whilst the desperate conditions endured by the animals and their owners are unimaginable in the UK, I can vouch for the very real difference the Brooke can make, and any money I raise will go a very long way.
I would like to extend a HUGE thank you for everyone who has helped so far and if anyone else would like to donate that would be fantastic and gratefully received.
Thank you.
