The London 2012 Paralympics inspired me to want to do something for kids and the Whizz- Kidz seemed like the right charity to make a difference in at least one child’s life. I come from a family of 11 siblings and over 50 nieces/nephews and even great nieces/nephews. Our family has been fortunate, but when I think of how special kids are in this world, my heart just says YES, kids are the future – we need to do what we can to help them. Also I used to teach dance to kids from age 3 on up to 14. And, when I think about how that shaped their lives – from building confidence to realising a dream. . .it so coincides with what Whizz-Kidz is all about.

This is my first marathon and therefore represents a huge personal challenge. My family will be cheering me on from across the pond, so I hope you’ll come and support me on the day. I can use all the cheering, applauding and smiley faces on the side of the road.
