While the COVID-19 pandemic closed our YMCA Teen Center doors, our Y-Scholars supportive community remained open, virtually.

This fall, in particular, showed me how vital programs like Y-Scholars are to the students we serve. While schools remain closed, Y-Scholars staff and volunteers remain accessible to help our scholars to help them improve their study skills, explain college admission information, guide high school seniors with their college applications or simply have someone to hear them.

I am supporting the Y-Scholars Program through fundraising because I strongly believe that we need to keep programs like this one accessible to first-gen and low-income students during these difficult pandemic times.
