I lost my grandfather to MND 4 years ago, he gradually lost bodily functions leading to a lack of mobility, followed by almost complete loss of speech and difficulty allowing and eating until he had to be fed through a tube. He eventually passed away after many weeks in hospital, as his body slowly shut down function by function.
