We fund life changing research to change the future of spinal cord injury

Story

Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. Every year 1,000 people in the UK and Ireland are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the support of the public to raise funds for our research. Because of the efforts of our supporters, we have funded innovative medical research that has achieved a number of ground breaking changes in the field.

Ste my husband was injured in a works accident in 2007, he woke up, got ready for work, kissed us all goodbye then sadly became a victim of a life changing accident that left him paralysed, no-one can imagine the horror of waking up and being told that you have a spinal injury and will never walk again! Knowing that a charity for Spinal Research UK is out there offering hope of a cure or improvement to your condition is what keeps both the injured and the effected families going.

My amazing friends and family running this half marathon in the name of Spinal research means more to me & Ste than anyone knows ❤️
